Substance Abuse Intervention
Recovery and Intervention from Substance Abuse (RISA)
For those impacted by substance abuse in our community, help is hard to come by. Because of that, the Lowcountry has seen a dramatic 30% increase in the number of deaths from drug overdose.
In order to combat the struggle so many face, we want to expand the intervention work we already do and develop a deeper and more expansive program, ideally on a separate campus in a more rural retreat setting.
Our Plan
We plan to dedicate 16 beds in our expansion plan to establish a rehabilitation program for recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.
The program will be free of charge, lasts 6-12 months, and includes recovery classes, community integration, individualized recovery plans, and work therapy.
The rehabilitation center will serve as a feeder system to transition into the men’s or women’s transitional living program for the next stage of their transformation into self-sustaining lifestyles and comprehensive plans.
If enough interest and support are generated, ideally a separate campus with a larger full-scale rehabilitation program could be established.
